Moving & Some Updates

The big news: We’re moving.

Posting might be a little sporadic for a few months due to our impending cross-country move! Unfortunately, this was not expected. We (my husband and I) had planned to move in about 3 years.

However, given the election results, and general state of the country, we will be relocating before January. I know a lot of you are feeling the pain of these events, and I am right there with you. Though I’m very privileged to have a straight-presenting relationship, and to no longer have a uterus, the area we live in is not safe for us.

I have screamed and cried and turned my rage into action. The action for us is to get as far north as possible to a friendly state. Everything is coming together, but it is moving extremely fast and the details and logistics are overwhelming. I don’t like change, I hate it. Even though it means we will be in a better place, I’m absolutely terrified.

I also know that we have a better chance of having a decent life, even while the empire falls. We are currently in a VERY hostile county, in the very very southern part of the country. Since the election didn’t go how any of us had planned, we have been very wary of neighbors flying confederate flags and wearing red hats. Not to mention the extreme heat and the bugs (it’s November and it’s 73 with 43% humidity).

Hopefully when my next post is published I’ll be able to post some awesome pictures of our new destination, as well as more frequent book reviews! I hope you’ll hang in here with me as we start a new chapter of our lives. This is an adventure we hadn’t quite planned, but we’re going to embrace it as best we can.

To everyone out there hurting right now, please stay safe, and feel free to email me any time. We take care of us!
